We entered 2007 surviving on short term funding, but, thankfully, managing to maintain all our services. The year has been a busy one with all the usual programme of events being hugely successful.
The membership remains around the 100 mark and both weekly groups are at capacity level with a few still waiting to join.
Pat and the admin staff, Sue and Julie, have worked extremely hard in keeping the office and day to day running of the centre in tip top shape. Our office has many roles and the administration side, although vital, is just a part of the role for the very versatile and caring staff that Hartlepool Special Needs Support Group are truly blessed to have.
Our band of volunteers grows from strength to strength, not always in number, but most definitely in dedication. Grateful thanks must go to them for giving their time often and unconditionally.
We have welcomed another Trustee, Julie Carter, who has joined us to make a total of 6. I must thank them too for their commitment and perseverance throughout the year.
Towards the end of October we received a grant from the Sobell Foundation that covers at least 50% of our core funding for the next 3 years. This will take us into 2008 in a much more secure financial situation.
Here´s hoping 2008 brings you all you wish for.
